Brandon M. Graham, MBA

As an Activist, Educator, and Entrepreneur Brandon’s motto is “Be Crazy Enough to Believe You Can”. With extensive experience in education, non-profit management, and business development, he founded the My HBCU Matters clothing brand and the Our HBCUs Matter Foundation, Inc. in 2015. Since then the organization has grown to be the #1 largest HBCU retail offering Company. The Our HBCUs Matter Foundation, was founded to encourage and guide students along their journey to degree completion and to achieve economic mobility via career opportunities.

A White House HBCU Initiative Scholar and current Doctoral Student at Tennessee State University, with a concentration on High Education and Executive Leadership. His dissertation focus is on “Exploring recruitment and retention strategies that yield high graduation rates at the high-performing HBCUs across the United States.” He earned his Master of Business Administration from Clark Atlanta University and his Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College Chicago.

With previous experience as the University Relations Manager at the National Black MBA Association, Educator & Program Manager, Atlanta Public Schools, and was awarded Teacher of the Year TJX Company 2015.

Strategic Accomplishments

The following strategic programs, outcomes, and partnerships that I have developed are below:

  • Founder of My HBCU Matters: Nationally recognized HBCU brand, Oversee our national conference the My HBCU Matters Summit, Scholar Programs, Raised $700k+ in funding, 400+ HBCU and High School Scholars, 45 HBCUs represented and 50 high schools represented, partner with HBCU Leadership and School System Administration, offer ranges from Paid Internships to $130k + Full-Time Opportunities, 100 offers accepted, +$500k in scholarships secured for Scholars.
  • Identified the existing partnership disparities between corporate partners, data and National Black MBA Association. I created the National Black MBA Association’s HBCU Scholars Cohort Program: Raised $400k + in program funding, 175 Scholars including undergraduate & graduate students, 40 HBCUs represented, offer ranges from Paid Internships to $200k + Full-Time Opportunities, 90 Internships & Full-Time Opportunities Accepted.
  • Aided in the advancement and growth of the National Black MBA Association’s Leaders of Tomorrow’s high school scholar program and LOT Summit, which provide educational programming for 200 High School Students from across the U.S. in partnership with a PWI, HBCU and corporate partner.
  • Created and established The Future of HBCUs Scholars Program through My HBCU Matters that connects High School Students to HBCUs and HBCU Alumni. HBCU that participated saw increased enrollment with a minimum of 6-10 Student enrolling into their Institution. Managed the YBI Program-TJX Company Program Manager: Establish school partnerships, Manage $75k school site budget, oversaw 2 school sites with over 90 students, Develop and create student curriculum, Support High School Student transition to College, Partner with school administration and counselors on student growth and development.
  • Strategic partnerships and relationships with the following: White House HBCU Initiative, Google, State Street, Workday, Invesco, Coca-Cola, Delta, JP Morgan Chase, Campbell’s, FDIC, CIA, FBI, to name a few.
